Great peace have they which love thy law:
#98.4
Dear Network,
- Psalms 119:165 "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them."
I know many of you have seen and felt the injustice of modern courts or society.
We have all been wrongly judged in our lives by others...
How can that injustice alter our hearts?
What is our armor?
- Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
It is not courts that brings injustice but men who are in them and serve them. Injustice is the result of usurpation of God in judging others.
It is the result of not loving law which is of the Spirit of God.
Many love power and think it is a love of law. They love to rule over others and impose their judgment upon them.
Their injustice is meant to tempt us to injustice by our own judgment rather than wait upon the Lord's judgment.
- 2 Chronicles 19:6 And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who [is] with you in the judgment.
We will each be visited by these temptations and must guard our souls against them.
- Psalms 119:97 . O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
We must forgive the unjust and leave judgment of them to God less we be drawn into the trap of ruling over one another.
We must learn to seek the righteousness of God and guard against serving our own self righteousness.
In our dealings with each others and new people who come to the network or to local congregations we must guard ourselves from being unjust or a source of injustice.
We must have the patience of the saints we are striving to be.
Our sense of justice can be easily offended but we need to seek the facts diligently before we judge another of wrong.
- Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
If we hear of an injustice we should guard ourselves and those we shepherd from judging to quickly and without hearing every question of truth from all sides and all who could testify.
- Psalms 119:163 I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.
And we know the law of love that Christ has explained with His own life and blood.
- Matthew 18:15 "Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother."
We all have pride...but can a man baptize/wash himself?
Who is not tempted by his own vanity?
Can iron sharpen iron without striking them against each other?
Can rebuke be given and taken in love?
- Psalms 119:113 . I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.
Each of us must stand alone but we must also learn to stand together without taking from our neighbor or coveting his or her right to choose.
The journey to the kingdom which this network hopes to facilitate is an individual journey together.
We are God's ministers, not our own and should seek to act in his righteousness.
But we do not know all and see all so we must guard against our own sensibility, frailty and error.
- John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
We must guard our hearts from supporting a quick judgment on the part of others.
We should give everyone a chance to the accused to explain their side and hear them openly.
We must be diligent in our quest for justice and apply the principles and precepts of testimony we would hope to have if we were drawn into courts....
It is very easy to jump to the wrong conclusions because conditions or circumstances we do not know...
- Psalms 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
The law of God did not change with Christ but was fulfilled in Him with every drop of His blood.... as it must be in us as we travel toward the kingdom of God that we seek....
- James 2:8 If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
The law of God is His love in us for Him and for one another...

-
