Someone on another group suggested that the president of the United States, John Kennedy started the war in Vietnam. He was corrected by Bob who stated, " JFK didn't start the war in Vietnam. It was going on since Truman who failed to follow the recommendation of the OSS and support Ho Chi Minh. Instead he supported the French who wanted to re-enter and re-assert their colonial domination. U.S. planes with U.S. pilots but French markings flew supply missions. The failure of Truman and the U.S. to support Ho is what caused him to turn to China and the USSR for support in resisting the French. It was basically an American screw-up. After the French bit the dust at Dien Bien Phu in 1954, the U.S. under Eisenhower sent in 'advisers,' including U.S. Marines who helped form the South Vietnamese Marine Corps. The advisers began their work seven years before Kennedy took office."
I agreed with Bob because Ho Chi Minh was extremely pro American but Truman sold him out to the French who abused the rights of the Vietnamese.
But it had nothing to do with love of the French nor righteousness.
I have sat privately and spoke with the former head of the Democratic party in Wisconsin who told me he was at the meeting with Eisenhower and wealthy men in the coal and steel and iron ore business. Eisenhower was reassuring them that he was going to engage the United States in a series of brush wars in south east Asia for the "purposes of stimulating the coal and steel industry".
Follow the money.
This is how foreign policy is decided and this is why your sons and brothers died in Asia. It was not to stop communism but so that rich men could get richer. This is why your sons and daughters die in the middle east and why the first fruits of your labor are taken away for the purposes of others.
It is why you are in bondage today...
And whose fault is it and what can you do about it?
"... He will take your sons, and appoint [them] for himself, ... And he will appoint him captains over thousands,... and to make his instruments of war.... And he will take your daughters ... And he will take your fields, ... And he will take.... And he will take ... He will take the ... And ye shall cry out in that day because of your King[president] which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day."
This is not just a quote from the Bible [1 Samuel 8:11...] but is also a quote from Common Sense by Thomas Paine.
Americans have lost the skill of a free republic because they foolishly believed that electing a leader of power could solve the problem. It has never been the answer and never will be.
“We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking." ~ Albert Einstein ~
If you create offices of power, men who seek power will seek office.
If you want your rights back you must take back your responsibilities.
The people of the world are a victim of their own apathy. If they want to overcome and be victors they must get victory over their own sloth.
That means you have to care for yourself and be ready to care for others with the same zeal. That means diligently networking. That does not mean being on an email group. It means making physical contact and forming a viable network of people who care about each other.
