His Church at Summer Lake
Finding the lost sheep is part of the mission of the Church.
One day while checking the water from the spring I found these lost lambs that had been separated from the main flock. They were as surprised to see me as I was to see them.
At first they just wanted to run. Range sheep are gregarious and they like the security of the flock. Since there were no mature ewes with them they were very frightened at first.
A good shepherd does not force the sheep to do anything. They just make it more convenient to go the right way.
I knew where the other sheep were so I just steadily encouraged them to go north and with patience they began to move north across the desert.
They stayed together because after centuries of facing the dangers of the open range, only those sheep who have learned the wisdom of staying together have survived until the instinct to stay together has created an invisible bond until the flock moves as one.
After traveling north for some time they becalm use to my guidance and eventually I could see the other sheep. They being shorter still did not know where the other flock was at but they had begun to trust me and moved steadily as I suggested...
As the tall grass, ditches and hills were behind them the broad plane was before them and out across the field they can began to notice the rest of the flock.
They baaed to the flock and some of the ewes began to answer their call.
They were lost but now they are found...
